Gabriel Vincent scored 12 points to lead a balanced scoring attack as the Rams beat the Vikings in a Tri-City Athletic League contest at St. Mary's Morelli Gymnasium 49-28.

At St. Mary’s, Gabe Vincent scored 16 points, Bryan Pascual scored 15, and Marcus Brown had 10 points and 13 rebounds to lead St. Mary’s to  a 56-44 win over the Tigers.

Men’s Basketball: St. Mary's 44, Lincoln 42

 

In an exciting defensive game, the traditional rivalry between the Rams and Trojans came down to the wire with St. Mary’s winning the contest 44-42. A buzzer attempt by Lincoln to score a three pointer missed off the rim as the Rams defense denied a clear view to the shooter. Vincent led the Rams with 10 points, and Brown had nine points.

On CYO Night at St. Mary's, Gabriel Vincent scored 17 points while Marcus Brown hit 10 for the Ram.

Men's Basketball: McNair 72, St. Mary’s 63 (OT)

 

Gabriel Vincent made a 3-pointer as time expired to send the Tri-City Athletic League showdown into overtime, but the Rams lost to the Eagles who made 28 of 34 free throws to get the win over St. Mary's.

Vincent led the Rams with 24 points.

Men’s Basketball: St . Mary’s 61, West 51

 

In a tough, physical game, the Rams defensive pressure turned a one-point halftime deficit into a 61-51 win over West at Morelli Gym. Marcus Brown scored the had a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Gabriel Vincent scored 15 points with an 11-of-14 effort from the free throw line to lead St. Mary’s scorers.

St. Mary's took an early lead and kept it throughout beating the Vikings 55-51 at Edison. Gabe Vincent scored 15 points and Marcus Brown had 12 to lead St. Mary’s in the TCAL opener.

Men's Basketball: St. Mary’s 65, Yuba City 47

 

Gabe Vincent led three St. Mary’s players in double figures with 19 points, and the Rams boys basketball team beat the Honkers 65-47 on Vincent made three 3-pointers, as did Brian Pascual, who scored 15 points. Marcus Brown also scored 15 points for St. Mary’s (13-2).

At St. Mary's, the Rams (12-2) and Mustangs (8-4) played a close game throughout. St. Mary's led 30-28 at halftime but was outscored 19-9 in the third quarter. Bryan Pascual and Marcus Brown each scored 16 points for the Rams. Dan Gallagher scored a game-high 26 points for Monte Vista. St. Mary's plays at 1 p.m. Monday at Yuba City.

Men’s Basketball: St. Mary’s 77, Tamalpais 49

 

The Rams Marcus Brown scored a game-high 24 points, Gabriel Vincent had 14 and Zachary Zeyen scored 10 to help the Rams  win the consolation championship at the South City Classic. St. Mary’s Bryan Pascual was selected to the all tournament team.

The Rams beat College Prep 65-27 behind Zachary Zeyen’s 12 points, Marcus Brown’s 11 and Trevor Carlson’s 10.

The Rams suffered their first season loss at South San Francisco, even though Marcus Brown scored a game high 19 points  and Gabriel Vincent’s 10  in  the  South San Francisco

The Rams improved to 10-0 with a 67-49 win over McClatchy.  Gabe Vincent led St. Mary’s with 15 points and Zach Zeyen scored 12 points in the victory.

Men's Basketball: St. Mary's 69, Rio Linda 52

 

Sophomore point guard Bryan Pascual hit four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 19 points, and the St. Mary’s basketball team remained perfect at 9-0 with a 69-52 win over Rio Linda in the fifth annual Hoops for the Human Fund showcase at Foothill High in Sacramento on Tuesday. The Rams had nine 3-pointers in the game as they continued to have balanced scoring as  Marcus Brown was the only player other than Pascual to hit for double figures with 11. Zachary Zeyen and Nick Payne each had nine points, and Gabriel Vincent  scored eight.

 

“We’re just a really close team that really pulls for one another,” St. Mary’s coach Ken Green said in a statement to The Record. “We don’t care who scores.”

Marcus Brown scored a game-high and 26 points, as the Rams remained perfect on the year while as they beat. 67-44 on Tuesday.Gabriel Vincent had 12 points for the Rams, Nick Payne had nine and Bryan Pascual scored eight.

Men’s Basketball: St. Mary’s 60, Casa Roble 48

Marcus Brown keyed a big third-quarter run to lead the St. Mary’s boys basketball team to a 60-48 victory over Casa Roble on Saturday night in the championship game of the Galt Warrior Classic. Brown scored 18 of his 26 points in the second half, including 12 in the third period. St. Mary’s outscored Casa Roble 23-7 in the third to take control after leading by one at halftime. Tournament MVP Gabe Vincent scored 14 points for St. Mary’s (7-0), which claimed its second tournament title after winning last week’s Seascape Resort Invitational in Aptos.

In the Galt Warrior Classic, the Rams were behind at half time but had a big third quarter, ourscoring the Knights 16-4 which lead to the 59-53 victory. Brian Pascual scored 12 points and Gabriel Vincent had 10 for the Rams.

Men’s Basketball: St. Mary’s 71, Laguna Creek 68

 

The Rams were trailing by 18 points midway through the third quarter and 14 to start the fourth but St. Mary’s reached down deep to rally and outscore the the Cardinals 33-16  in the fourth on their way to a 71-68 victory.

 

Sophomore guard Gabriel Vincent led the way with a team-high 21 points, and Zachary Zeyen had 11.

Men’s Basketball: St. Mary’s 52, Liberty 37

 

The Rams won the Seabright Tournament at Aptos, as tournament most valuable player Marcus Brown scored 19 points and the Rams held Liberty to just 12 points in the second half. Nick Payne scored 12 points for the Rams.

 

Marcus Brown was named MVP of the tournament, while Gabriel Vincent was selected as all-tournament player.

 

Men's Basketball: Rams 63 - Watsonville 46

 

In the Seascape Resort Invitational, the Rams Marcus Brown had 19 points while Gabriel Vincent scored all of his 16 points in the third quarter to overcome a half-time deficit and help lead St. Mary's to the win.

 

When St. Mary's switched to a zone defense in the second half, forcing the Wildcatz to take outside shots, the Rams outscored Watsonville 25-11 in the decisive third quarter.

 

St. Mary's shot 47 percent [26 of 55] from the field, 53 percent [9 of 17] from the free-throw line and had 15 turnovers.

The Rams kicked off their season with a Foundation Game at Chavez.  Marcus Brown scored 21 points to lead the Rams over the Titans 50-41.
