T

he President's Club was established in 2001 as a way to enhance our rich heritage by providing funds to assist with meeting the needs of the school. Membership is open to all who believe in the goals of St. Mary's High School and contribute $1,000 or more annually to the President's Club.

With funds from the past ten years' memberships, laptop computers were purchased for faculty members in the Math, Science, English, Language, Social Studies and Art Departments. The use of these computers has enhanced the efforts of the faculty to bring the latest technology into the classroom. In addition, funding provided by the club allowed St. Mary's to purchase laptops for teachers,  funding a program to assist students in need of better reading and comprehension skills,  a web-based resource for parents, students and teachers to provide timely updates on grades, progress and allow for more effective communication, cyber study halls and establishing additional technological resources for the school.

The 2011 President's Club Dinner was held November 13th and the speaker was Mr. Lesx Corralles, SM Class of 1962.

Veteran's Day Flag Blessing

November 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., Saint Mary's was honored to have the parents of Kyle Coumas' 05 and Victor Cervantes '95 both of whom died in the service of the United States in Afghanistan.  Both families received flags in commemoration of their son's sacrifice.

St. Mary's was further honored by the presence of the California Highway Patrol honor guard that was made up entirely of veterans. In addition the beauty and pagentry of the Color Corp of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree O'Connor Council lent a particular solemnity to the event.

Fr. John Fallon presided, with the national anthem sung by Taylor Mancebo a member of the varsity volleyball squad. The presence of Fr. Clark Kelley, a Navy veteran also enhanced the memorial event.

Benefactor Mass and Breakfast Recognizes Generosity of Donors

Saint Mary's hosted a thank you Mass followed by breakfast for the generous donors to the St. Mary's Scholarship Program. The Mass, officiated by Fr. Fallon with Fr. Kelley assisting, was attended not only by many benefactors of the school, but also members of Haven of Peace, who accepted a large amount of supplies donated by St. Mary's students through the Campus Ministry department.  The breakfast featured students who presented their stories of gratitude for the kindness and generosity of those who have allowed so many to receive the benefit of a St. Mary's education. :: Photos ::
