WHERE: Camden, New Jersey
WHAT: In April of 2018, a group from St. Mary’s traveled toCamden, New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA for a Service Retreat with De Sales Service Works. It was a tremendous and life-changing experience, so we are planning to return next spring. This “hands-on” retreat offers an opportunity to get away, reflect, pray and directly serve people in need one of the poorest cities of its size in the nation. The retreat theme is rooted in the core teachings of St. Francis de Sales and involves direct service, facilitated reflection, presentations on Catholic social teaching, prayer and opportunity to celebrate Eucharist. We will do a variety of much-needed, practical service projects in an urban area that is poor, tough, and needs hope.
WHO: Current sophomores, juniors & seniors.
COST: Participants will pay full cost up front of $1,000, which includes air and ground transportation, lodging and all meals. Participants agree to help fundraise and secure sponsorships. Any collected funds raised will be refunded back to participants.

Dear Saint Mary's Students and Families,
Saint Mary's World Languages Department is thrilled to announce the second Spanish language and cultural immersion trip. This year, our destination will be the beautiful country of Costa Rica. Our scheduled departure is planned for May 31, for 12 days* of full immersion into the ever-important Spanish language and encounter with the people and cultures of this amazing country.
This experience is open to all current Saint Mary's Spanish students, or those students who have a working knowledge of heritage Spanish. The number of participants is limited. Please refer to the attached file for additional information, including itinerary, cost and payment schedule. Please disregard the "due date" as this has been extended. For additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mr. Sousa, in our World Language Department, or Alondra Velez, our Forum Language Experience Representative.
Similar to last summer's rewarding experience to Ecuador, it is our hope to take an enthusiastic group of Saint Mary's students to Costa Rica.
Bendiciones/Blessings,
Rui Sousa
