Computer Graphics | Video Production

This course will introduce students to graphic arts using a variety of software applications. Students will learn rudimentary paint and draw skills, basic photo editing and enhancement, and will create slide show presentations. There is no textbook required. This class satisfies the computer graduation requirement.

This course explores the creation of digital films with contemporary computer technology. Students will utilize standard movie production techniques such as storyboarding, camera shot composition and scripting to guide the creative process. Various computer technologies and software applications will be utilized to craft multimedia elements such as graphics, photographs, digital video, and music into short digital film productions published to MP4s. No textbook is required. This class satisfies the computer graduation requirement.
Instructor Bio
Michael January is a graduate of the University of the Pacific with a degree in Communications with a Broadcast emphasis. He has over 30 years of experience in Broadcasting and Video Production. Among his duties was to instruct community members in the use of video equipment. He has produced and directed high school football games as well as NCAA sports. Mr. January is also the Digital Media Manager for the Athletic Department of the University of the Pacific, where his primary duties include streaming live athletic events on the West Coast Conference Network.
