We believe every child has the potential to grow and excel in their talents, especially musically. Our Choir and Instrumental Music program is designed to equip our students with insightful instruction, and engagement in the musical community through local competitions and concerts.
CHORAL MUSIC
At Saint Mary’s you can give your student a chance to embrace their passion for singing in three incredible choirs. Whether it is the San Joaquin Honors Choir or joining our theatre department for the Spring musical, your student will have all the tools they need to experience the music scene on local/national level:
- Concert Choir: Give your student a chance to harmonize their talents in a diverse mixed-voice ensemble, inviting students of all backgrounds and levels of experience to join.
- Canti Fermi: Elevate your student’s musical prowess in this advanced mixed-voice ensemble, tailored for students with prior choir or similar experience. Earn UC/CSU approved Honors credit, in this choir as well!
- Prima Voce: For the select treble voices, this audition-based advanced women’s ensemble promises an unparalleled musical experience by joining our prestigious group and showcasing your student’s talent at local events and competitions!
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Our award-winning Symphonic Band at Saint Mary’s is not just a band; it’s a legacy of excellence! Our students perform at football games, rallies, and concerts while also experiencing the thrill of the music community at local events and taking the first steps of their musical path through a structured Music Theory curriculum.
Whether you're a seasoned musician or just starting your musical voyage, Saint Mary's welcomes you to explore our different musical ensembles:
- Drumline: Let your student march to the beat of their passion with this spirited ensemble, adding rhythm and energy to football games, rallies, and local parades.
- Jazz Band: An introduction into the vibrant world of jazz, our students’ smooth tunes resonate at local concerts and community events held here on campus.
