DRILL TEAM COURSE SUMMARY

The Saint Mary's Varsity Drill Team has been coaching and guiding talented dancers for over 25 years in leadership, artistic and athletic growth and team building. We are excited to continue this tradition.

Drill/Song Dance is a class that can provide either P.E. and/or visual and performing arts credit that performs halftimes for football, basketball (Boys & Girls), and lacrosse home games. It is mandatory for each student who makes this team to attend all summer practices and Dance camp during the month of July. Both parent and student will sign a contract stating that the student will attend all outside class time practices and performances as well as abide by the rules.

Dancers are designated a class period for drill team, where they not only work on dance skills and performance choreography, but they also learn about team leadership, spirit/unity and fundamentals in choreography.

Thank you to everyone for working so hard to earn a position on our 25-26 Saint Mary’s Drill Team. We appreciate everyone who came out and participated in clinics and tryouts. If you were not successful in making the team this year, please consider trying out for the Saint Mary’s Cheer teams starting next Tuesday, April 8th as we would love to have you as a part of the SMHS spirit program.
