College Scholarships for Seniors

Saint Mary's High School has a long history of assisting our students with their financial needs for college.
 
Below are listed senior scholarships for the Class of 2024.
 
LISA DIANNE GINI SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
$1000 one-time scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who is planning to go into the nursing or medical field. Minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA. Student must have history of community service or hospital volunteer work in addition to participation in at least one school extra-curricular activity. Essay required about your history of community service and/or volunteer work, extra-curricular activities, and your future nursing or medical field plans.
 
THE JOSEPH CRANE SAINT MARY’S COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
$24,000 scholarship (awarded at $6000 per year for four years) for a graduating senior who is attending Saint Mary’s College of California. Student should have financial need. Student will be selected by SMHS scholarship committee, but will be funded directly by Saint Mary’s College of California. Essay required regarding your plans to attend Saint Mary’s College, what you plan to study, what kind of career you hope to have, and your current financial need.
 
IACOPI & LENZ SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
$250 one-time scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who has displayed the ability to overcome adversity or special circumstances. Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Must provide detailed accomplishments at SMHS and goals after graduation. Essay required regarding detailed accomplishments, post-graduation goals and overcoming adversity.
 
MATTHEW SMITH SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
$1000 one-time scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who is a current member of the baseball team and earned a varsity letter. Applicant cannot have any history of violations of the SMHS Athletic Code of Conduct. Essay required regarding your time as Saint Mary’s as a baseball player and your post-graduation plans.
 
BARKETT SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
$500 one-time scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who is attending Santa Clara University. Essay required regarding your plans to attend Santa Clara University, what you plan to study and what kind of career you hope to have.
 
MANASSERO SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
$500 one-time scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who is or has been a member of the stage crew for performing arts. Student must have financial need. Minimum cumulative 2.7 cumulative GPA. Essay required regarding your time as part of the Saint Mary’s stage crew and how it has impacted you.
 
BOB EDELMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
$1,130 one-time scholarship awarded to graduating senior who has a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA who has taken at least four years of math and/or science and played at least 2 years of a varsity sport. Essay required regarding your time as a Saint Mary’s athlete, your math and science coursework and your post-graduation plans.
 
ALBINA ROSSI O’LEARY SCHOLARSHIP
$1,500 one-time scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who is Catholic and has a GPA over 2.5, with preference given to an Annunciation graduate. Essay required regarding your regarding your academic and extra-curricular successes and your post-graduation plans. Scholarship applications will be open from March.1, 2024 through April 30, 2024. The application is available as a google form on our St. Mary's Website on the Counseling Department page. Recipients will be notified by May 12, 2024.
 
THE HENRY AND JOHANN EILERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Given to a graduating senior pursuing a career in agriculture.  The amount to be rewarded is $1200.  The student must have a 3.0 GPA and is required to write an essay on their interest on agricultural goals as well as their past engagements with agriculture.

THE KAREN HALE VINEYARD CHRISTIAN SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
$500 one-time scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who graduated from Vineyard Christian Middle School who has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the values of Vineyard Christian Middle School including, Bible Centered, Excellence Driven, Servant Focused, Training for Life. Separate essay and application required regarding your academic and extra-curricular successes and your post-graduation plans. Please see your counselor for an application if you are wanting to apply to this scholarship or click the button below. Complete applications must be submitted directly to VCMS and post-dated prior to April 1, 2024.
